DISCOVER THE HISTORY OF CANTALOBOS BODEGA
Bodegas Cantalobos was born from the illusion of some winegrowers to make wines as our ancestors did, with love and care, with native grapes from the Bierzo region such as Mencía and Godello.
In El Bierzo, we have a unique microclimate, which makes our wines special, vineyards of old vines and soils of different types that offer unique and different nuances.
We take care of our vineyards with passion, respecting the vine and the soil to the maximum, since it is the raw material to make our wines, carrying out such practices, as well as ecological work in the vineyard.
The harvest is carried out at sunset with hours of low temperature so as not to damage the clusters, exhaustively selecting by hand with the highest quality parameters the best grapes to make our wine.
When it arrives at the winery, a second classification is made on the selection table before enter the tanks and macerate cold before fermentation, pumping over daily. to produce quality wines since we bottle a very limited production of bottles.
The harvest is conducted at the end of September, the vineyards are located on slopes of 500 and 600 meters of altitude facing south in the area of Villafranca del Bierzo, which has calcareous clay soil predominantly.
